Success Magazine has some very valuable secrets to success in their 2008 November issue.
From Norman Vincent Peale’s The Power of Positive Thinking to T. Boone Pickens, billionaire businessman’s alternative energy plan for wind power to Ken Blanchard, author of The One Minute Manager giving sage advice like “Be a lifelong learner” to Dr. Ann’s article on Feeling for Others…Raising Kids with Empathy.
One of my mentors when I started working with children and families in 1978 was Ken Blanchard. He had just published a book called The Family Game, a situational approach to Effective Parenting. I became a certified situational parenting trainer with Ken Blanchard in 1981 and thanks to his outstanding educational leadership I have been practicing parent education for 27 years since.
So it is a tremendous honor for me to be published in Success magazine this month along side Ken Blanchard. Thanks for letting me share an excerpt from my article on page 16 of Success.
“I don’t think we are teaching our children to show empathy. With all of the video games and watching TV, the human element isn’t present on the screen. Kids aren’t getting the social cues from the person, the mannerisms and the interactive social-emotional connection.”
